Here is my discovery of the 7 most instagrammable places in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. All 7 locations can be visited in a single day, you could do it yourself or take the Instagram Photo Tour with Fellini Travels (see some of their snaps at the end of this post). If you want to read more about this trip check out my post 4 Days in Georgia and Must Try Food In Georgia.
Table of Contents
Fabrika Hostel
An old sewing factory transformed into a multifunctional space, famous among locals and travellers alike. This place is a gold mine for instagram and my favorite among the most instagrammable places in Tbilisi. The courtyard is designed with an industrial style décor and the walls are flushed with creative murals, perfect combination for insane pictures. Fabrika Hostel is not only just a hostel but also home to famous bars and restaurants, so even if you are not staying at the hostel, you can grab yourself a drink or a meal at this local hotspot.
Gallery 27
Support local talent at a gallery of handmade arts and crafts. The stained glass windows in the stairwell makes this one of the most instagrammable places in Tbilisi. Located in Old Town, this spot is quite popular and does get crowded so expect to spend some extra time for the perfect click.
King David Church
The bricked semicircular windows right next to the Mtkvari river overlooking old Tbilisi make this an ideal photo spot. It’s a hidden gem known to locals only and the internet is still unaware of this place. Massive thanks to Mate from Fellini Travels for showing us this epic location.
The Clock Tower
There is something about clocks that really fascinates me. This unique leaning clock tower, located in the heart of Old Town, is designed by puppeteer Rezo Gabriadze. It stands out with its playful and modern architecture and if you are there when the hour strikes, you are in for a treat.
Shardeni Street
Steps away from the clock tower, this street is lined up with beautifully designed café’s and restaurants one after the other. However, it is a massive tourist trap with ridiculously overpriced food and drinks. My advice, stroll around this area with your camera ready and scroll through your clicks with a drink in other parts of the old town.
Abanotubani Sulphur Baths
Amongst all the sulphur baths, there is one big multicolored structure that pops out and it is impossible to miss. It’s unique design attracts every single tourist in this area and for good reason. The building is just too beautiful.
Bridge Of Peace
This bow shaped pedestrian bridge is constructed with steel, glass and illuminated with hundreds of LED lights which are really satisfying to watch after sun down. I even spotted this bridge from my flight before landing in Tbilisi. To get the best clicks visit this bridge in a very odd hour of the night to beat the crowd, I recommend before sunrise.
All the above locations can be visited on foot and are located minutes away from each other, with the exception of Fabrika Hostel, which is located about 2-3 Km away from Old Town. Although its just a 30 minute walk to the hostel, it is just further relative to the other spots.
